Baby Hampton Announcement - It's a girl!!!
We are so EXCITED!! The day has finally come to determine the sex of our little bundle of joy and baby Hampton is a girl!! Today, July 2, I am officially 20 weeks and 4 days along in my pregnancy.
From day 1, Justin has been hoping and praying that we would have a boy and referring to baby Hampton as a "him" every chance he got. I have always wanted at least 2 children and preferred to have a boy first and then a little girl. However, I have felt pretty early on that this baby was destine to be a girl. I can't explain why, I just did. It seemed that many others around us had the same prediction and were vocal about their opinion that we would be blessed with a baby girl. As time went on I became more and more attached to the idea and began really hoping for a little girl. With all this talk of a daughter, Justin had come to accept and be excited about the idea of a girl prior to today. This past Saturday he actually purchased this cute pink little Steelers outfit online, which came in the mail today. How fitting with it being the day we found out!! So obviously his gut already knew the gender, just like mine did!!

When we got out of the doctor's office after finding out
the news. Justin took me to his car and had a card and gift waiting for me. The
gift was these adorable little socks in a pretty pink gift bag. This was technically his very first gift
for the baby!! How cute and how sweet is he?!?! I almost cried. God, I love him!!!! :-)

20 Week Photos
YAY, I'm officially half way through my pregnancy!! I am still feeling GREAT, but my belly is growing like crazy and I have recently been experiencing swelling in my feet and ankles. I thought it was too early for this symptom?!?! Other than that, I couldn't feel better or be in better spirits!! I don't think that I've felt the baby move yet, but they say it sometimes takes longer in first time pregnancies to realize you are feeling the baby move. I am anxious and hoping to feel the baby move very soon!!
In typical Tina fashion, I have been making my lists and checking off as many items from the lists as possible. I have researched my insurance and thankfully Booz Allen's coverage is fantastic. Almost everything should be covered 100%!! I researched my maternity leave and confirmed that my plan will be to take 12 weeks off from work. Booz Allen has a Parental leave policy and will pay my salary 2 of the 12 weeks. The rest will either be covered by Short Term Disability, my PTO or will be unpaid. I also started researching daycare facilities and put myself on the daycare waiting list at my work. I had coupons that gave me gift cards, surprise, surprise, so I went ahead and started my registries (Target & Babies"R"Us). I still need to sit down with one of my veteran mom friends to determine what all I actually need, vice what they suggest you put on the registry. I've also already started accepting hand-me-downs from friends, so I'm hoping that my registry will be very lean and only contain the essentials. I have picked out the furniture and the room themes that I like and am just awaiting the announcement of the baby's sex to pull the trigger and start ordering everything. I can't wait to set up the nursery and will be sure to include pictures on the blog as I am working on it!
Stay tuned for the big announcement tomorrow! :-)
