Casey is Preparing too!! :-)

They say that dogs can sense when a women becomes pregnant. I'd like to think that is the case, but I'm not yet positive that Casey does really know. One of the signs would be that he follows me around the house, instead Justin, but I've always been Casey's favorite and he has always followed me. ;-) He does seem a little more responsive to my behavior than normal, but I'm not sure if that is just because I'm more sensitive and emotional than normal. The TV makes me cry a lot lately. Once the Sarah McLachlan music starts playing for the ASPCA commercials, I'm already balling. Typically if he sees or hears me crying he will come over and lay on or beside me. Whether he does know or not, he is still a great comforter and always makes me feel better, happy or sad!!

It's hard to believe that once baby Hampton arrives I will love him or her as much, if not more than Casey. He has been our life for the past three years and we love and treat him like our baby!! He loves me, comforters me and brings so much joy to my life. I hope and pray that the adjustment will not be too hard on him and that he will accept our new little family member quickly and without reservation!!

This is a recent picture of Casey over at our friend's house. Kimmie said that he was standing guard and protecting Lukas when playing on the floor. Good job Casey!! Get that practice in before your new little brother or sister arrive!

Mothers Day

My husband is the best!! I felt truly loved and appreciated today, not to mention spoiled rotten!! I spent the morning sleeping in with my two favorite people, Justin and Casey. Mid-morning I was served breakfast in bed and we watched our favorite family show, Dogs 101. :-)

I finally rolled out of bed later that morning to go get a pedicure with my friends Kimmie and Lynzie. After our little pampering session we went to Panera for a wonderful lunch and sat outside in the gorgeous sunshine!! I spent the rest of the afternoon sitting out on the back deck soaking up the sun and reading my book club book, The Light Between Oceans. It's a really good book!!

The wonderful day continued when Justin cooked me a delicious steak dinner with all my favorite fixin's and set up the spread on our deck table...our first dinner outside this year!! We enjoyed the yummy meal and relaxed together for the rest of the evening!! I had a wonderful Mother's Day and look forward to next year, my first official Mother's Day, when baby Hampton is actually here!!

The new Babymobile

For those of you who may not know, Justin just got a new babymobile, a 2011 Cadillac SRX! ;-) We started talking about the probability of us needing a bigger vehicle in the near future, in order to support our growing family. From what I hear, babies come with a whole ton of things that you need to haul around with them when traveling. Not to mention the fact that the AWD would definitely come in handy when driving up North in the winter.

Well Justin is a man of action and took the conversation very seriously (I think he was secretly just excited to get the green light on purchasing a new car ;-)). The week following, he studied and researched SUVs to try and determine the best fit for our needs. Within one week of our initial conversation, he was parking the new Cadillac in front of our house. It is a gorgeous car and I look forward to having the extra space it provides for when the little baby Hampton arrives!
